LGBTQ+ domestic partner abuse is not addressed enough in the gay community. Often you feel lost and left out. You feel alone and don't know what to do. This podcast wants to give you hope so you can be a survivor of abuse. You are not alone. There is help out there.
Hear Me Out: My Story
My Story: My father abused me.
In this episode, I talk about my dad and some of the abusive things that happened to me over the years. Families are complex organisms with lots of stuff going on. Try to remember that you were a child and your parents were supposed to protect you. Things that happened were not your fault. I felt a sense of relief when I learned I am not my parents and my parents are not me. I can be my own person and take care of myself. If you are a victim of abuse, I care and people care. Please seek someone you trust for help.
